Most charities are a scam...and the Red Cross, United Way, World Wildlife Fund, Good Will and Sierra Club are top dogs. Very little of your donated money ends up in the hands of the people it's supposed to help. You are better off donating clothes or direct aid to local groups you can monitor. Find a smaller trustworthy organization in your local area and donate to them.
